How to download TikTok videos on iPhone
You don’t need an app to save a TikTok to your iPhone. Safari can download it as an MP4, and two taps move it into Photos. The same steps work on iPad.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with a recent version of iOS or iPadOS.
- Safari (Chrome works too; see the note at the end).
- The link of a public TikTok post.
Step 1: Copy the TikTok link
Open the video in the TikTok app, tap the Share arrow on the right, and tap Copy link. TikTok copies a short link such as https://vm.tiktok.com/….
Step 2: Paste it into TikTok to MP4
Open Safari, go to tiktoktomp4.app, tap the box at the top and tap Paste. Then tap Download. After a second or two you see the video’s cover, the creator and the files you can save.
Step 3: Choose a file and download it
Tap the version you want. On iPhone, the top choice (often 1080p or 720p HEVC) is the sharpest and plays perfectly. Safari asks Do you want to download …? Tap Download. A small arrow appears in the address bar while the file downloads.
Step 4: Move the video to Photos
Safari saves downloads in the Files app, not in Photos. To move the video:
- Open the Files app and go to Browse › Downloads (in iCloud Drive or On My iPhone).
- Tap the video to open it.
- Tap the Share button and choose Save Video.
The video is now in Photos with your other videos, ready to edit or share.
Saving photo slideshows and sounds
- Photo posts: tap a picture to download it, or Download all photos to get a ZIP file. In Files, tap the ZIP once to unpack it, then open each picture and tap Share › Save Image.
- MP3: tap MP3 audio. The MP3 is made on your iPhone and saved to Files › Downloads, where you can play it or share it.
If something doesn’t work
- Nothing happens when you tap Download. You may be in TikTok’s own browser. Open the page in Safari instead.
- You can’t find the file. Go to Settings › Apps › Safari › Downloads (on older iOS: Settings › Safari › Downloads) to see which folder Safari uses.
- Using Chrome? Chrome keeps downloads in Files › On My iPhone › Chrome. The Save Video step is the same.
- It says the post is private or not found. Only public posts can be saved. Check that the post still exists and that the account is public.
